📅 Back in April 2007, our community faced an overwhelming challenge — crime was at an all-time high, and our streets no longer felt like home. But rather than stand by, our residents took action. Neighbours came together, determined to reclaim their peace and security. Drawing inspiration from successful initiatives in surrounding areas, we built a security network that has since transformed the RSE into one of the 🔐 safest, most connected communities in the region.

💰 Understanding Your Contribution

We’ve made Ridgefield more secure together — and we’ve kept it affordable. Below is a breakdown of monthly levies, including optional services and discounts for those in need.

🔔 Alarm Monitoring & Armed Response (Optional)

R158/month – This optional add-on includes full alarm integration, armed response, and 24/7 monitoring — for less than most commercial providers.
R99/month - Panic button linked to the control room with armed response.

The above options only available to residents already contributing via one of the levy plans below.

We provide both Telegram and WhatsApp group platforms to keep verified RSE residents informed and connected. To maintain the integrity and security of these groups, access is limited to contributing members only.

🚪 At RSE, security is our top priority. With 6 vehicle access gates and 5 pedestrian gates, all monitored by 📷 high-definition cameras, we ensure monitored entry and 24/7 surveillance for every resident.

🚓 Our dedicated patrol vehicle stays within the area at all times, maintaining an ⏱️ 3-minute average response time for the past two years. Backed by 🧠 smart security systems and strategically placed CCTV cameras, we proactively detect and deter threats.

🛡️ RSE sponsors the Alpha Security Forum, empowering residents to become active responders. We also collaborate closely with the 👮‍♂️ Community Policing Forum (CPF) to extend our reach and strengthen safety in surrounding areas.

🚨 Community Patrols & Radios

At Ridgefield Security Estate, patrols are the backbone of our proactive safety culture. Whether you’re casually observant during your daily routines or ready to respond to emergencies, there's a level of involvement for everyone.

👤 Who is it for?
Any resident — even those just driving to the shops, fetching kids from school, or out for a walk.

🧭 Role:

Be observant and report anything unusual to the RSE Security Telegram Group.
No formal commitment, but your awareness makes a significant difference.

🎯 Goal:
Create a constant, informal network of eyes and ears throughout the estate.

👤 Who is it for?
Residents who want to contribute more actively on their own schedule.

🧭 Role:

Participate in structured but voluntary patrol shifts (e.g. evenings, weekends).
Log basic observations or suspicious activity.
Maintain visibility to deter potential threats.
Share live location on the RSE Patrol Group (Telegram).
Use VHF radio and/or group chat to coordinate and report.

📆 Commitment:
Flexible — weekly or monthly participation. Perfect for those with a community-first mindset but limited time.

Preferably familiar with radios and community layout.
Must be approved and verified by the Alpha Response Coordinator.

Active involvement with possible on-call responsibilities.

Two-way VHF radios are a reliable tool for staying connected during emergencies, patrols, or communication blackouts like load shedding. We encourage all active patrollers and responders to carry one.

🔴 Channel 1 – Emergency: For serious and urgent incidents only.
🟡 Channel 2 – Patrol: Used during casual and dedicated resident patrols.
🟢 Channel 3 – Simplex: Short-range radio-to-radio comms (line of sight).
🔒 Channel 4 – Guard: Reserved for professional security teams only.
